Abernethy and Hagerman Elder Law

Jay Hagerman

I am an attorney that makes the headaches created by life disappear. The basis of my practice includes transactional law encompassing estate planning, estate/trust administration, elder law, real estate transfers, business startups and governance, contracts, and tax law. Whether it’s dealing with the grief caused by the passing of a loved one, the stress of selling a house, or winding through the red tape of starting a new business, my job is to minimize any anxiety caused by those events and allow the client to obtain some peace of mind.

I was born and raised in the north hills of Allegheny County in Hampton Township. I fell in love with American history and decided to pursue a degree in that field at Gettysburg College. During that time I was fortunate enough to work in the White House office of Correspondence in Washington, D.C. I attended Duquesne University School of Law focusing my time learning about laws relating to wealth creation and preservation. I began clerking at a law firm in my second year of law school and worked there as an attorney thereafter. I decided to move to my hometown of Hampton Township and open my own practive Hagerman Law, LLC in order to serve the community that I love so dear.  I currently reside in the borough of Seven Fields with my fiance Tara, which allows me to serve clients throughout Western Pennsylvania.
